For a new hotel or a laundry-room renovation, the equipment configuration should be based on daily linen weight, peak occupancy, operating hours and the desired level of automation. Too little capacity creates bottlenecks; too much increases capital and utility costs.
A practical preliminary estimate is about 3 kg of linen per occupied bed, including sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases and towels. The calculation should then be adjusted for occupancy, linen changes per day, food-and-beverage linen, uniforms, reserve capacity and the number of operating shifts.
Washer-extractors: Xinengxing XGQ automatic washer-extractors use variable-frequency drives and high-speed extraction. Lower residual moisture can reduce the load on dryers and flatwork ironers.
Tumble dryers: Towels and other terry items normally require tumble drying. Xinengxing GZP dryers are available in multiple capacities with steam or electric heating options.
Flatwork ironers: Sheets, duvet covers and table linen require drying and finishing. A multi-roll steam ironer can be paired with a feeder for continuous production.
Folders: Automatic folders detect linen length and perform repeatable folding programs, reducing manual work after ironing.
Feeders and conveyors: A multi-station feeder improves alignment and keeps the ironer supplied. Conveyor and stacking options can further streamline the finishing area.
Washer, dryer, ironer and folder capacity must be balanced. A high-output wash section provides little benefit if the finishing line cannot keep pace. The equipment plan should be checked using hourly throughput rather than nameplate capacity alone.
Confirm water supply, drainage, electrical load, ventilation, exhaust, compressed air and steam before equipment arrives. Steam-heated dryers and ironers commonly require a stable supply in the range of 0.4–0.7 MPa, subject to the specific machine specification. Early planning prevents expensive rework and helps create a safe, efficient workflow.
Xinengxing can develop a project-specific configuration based on room count, linen mix, production hours, utility conditions, available space and budget.
